TRAC International - Beauly Station
May 2010

Waverley Engineering have been contracted by TRAC International to provided operated plant, operators and plant repair and servicing at the Beauly railway station.







Knocknagael Inverness
May 2010

Waverley Engineering have continued our close working ties with RJ Macleod in providing operated plant and servicing to the SSE's Knocknagael project.

The Knocknagael substation project will increase renewable generation export capacity from north-west Scotland by around 125MW.




Easi Screen
May 2010

Waverley Engineering have returned from Scotplant 2010 with a Easi- Screen bought from Finlay Scotland Limited.

Waverley Engineering will be providing Finlay Scotland Limited with repair and servicing throughout the Highlands.

The Easi- Screen, from bequip is a compact mobile two product screen, capable of producing soil fines or clean stone / hardcore up to 40 tons per hour, depending on mesh size.

Powered by a 10hp diesel engine, the easi-screen can be transported by trailer and towed behind a suitable 4x4 or jeep.

With 4 retractable legs, the hydraulic rams allow the machine to disengage from the trailer in minutes, and is then ready for work.

The rugged 6x6 double deck screen box has interchangeable meshes which are available from 2mm up to 100mm.

The easi-screen provides a unique addition for self use in confined spaces, or for hire giving much needed revenue, making considerable savings on tipping costs as well as producing saleable products.


This screen will compliment our existing landscaping servies and will be available for hire.

Volvo EC140CL
August 2008

Waverley Engineering have purchased a Volvo EC140CL excavator. The Excavator will be on display on Volvo CE Stand at the Black Isle Show 2008.

Waverley Engineering have specified LEMAC Tillicoultry Buckets after using their quick hitches.

Key features of the excavator include:

Excavator Fork attachments:
June 2008

The fork attachment is designed and manufactured by Craig Fab in Muir of Ord, and has been purchased by Waverley Engineering to increase productivity and increase safety.

Many construction contractors tend to use excavators with slings to move palletised loads such as bagged cement, bricks and blocks. This process usually causes damaged material, waste, is time consuming and is potentially dangerous.

The new quick hitch fork attachment provides a solution to these problems. With adapter plates avaliable for JCB 3CX Volvo EC55B and Volvo 88ECR.

Golspie Big Burn new disabled access footpath
January 2008

Waverley Engineering have been awarded the contract to construct a 600 Metre disabled footpath linking to the existing Big Burn footpaths.



Transport Scotland
September 2007

Waverley Engineering are pleased to be providing on site plant repair and service for RJ Mcleod for the A9 Helmsdale to Ord of Caithness Improvements Phase 2 Project.

We have also hired plant to RJ Mcleod for this project.

This project involves the construction of 2.1 kilometres of 6 metre-wide single carriageway, with 1 metre hard strips and a minimum soft verge width of 1.65 metres. At the northern end of the scheme, a 280 metre-long 10 metre-wide climbing lane will be provided.

The improvements are largely off-line, with the southern tie-in at East Helmsdale and the northern tie-in near the watercourse at Allt Briste North. Construction work is expected to take 12 months to complete.

Volvo ECR88 Excavator
August 2007

Following extensive trials and demonstrations a Volvo ECR 88 Pro excavator has been purchased from Volvo CE in Stirling. Delivery is expected before the end of the August. This model of excavator was on show at the recent Black Isle show at Muir of Ord.

RJ Mcleod

Banger Derby - Golspie Gala Week
JUNE 2007

Waverley Engineering has continued to support Golspie Gala Week by improving the access road down to the competitor’s area for the famous banger racing held this year again below the Carn Liath Broch midway between Golspie and Brora .



New Buckets
May 2007

Waverley Engineering has purchased a new Vee Bucket from Scot JCB and a new riddle bucket with adjustable screens. Both buckets have been modified by our own skilled workshop staff to allow them to be attached to our Volvo EC55B or one of our 3CX excavators.





New Water Bowser
May 2007

Waverley Engineering has taken delivery of a 500 gallon water bowser, complete with Honda water pump. The bowser has been modified in our workshops to allow self filling.

Rash Management
April 2007

Waverley Engineering has completed a contract to cut rashes using our Volvo excavator and a Bomford flail mower. The mower has been modified in our own workshops to allow quick hitch connection to the Volvo.

This combination has a lower ground pressure than a typical tractor and mower allowing us to reach areas inaccessible with traditional methods.

April 2007

A9 improvements and new filter lane for Highland Council’s new North Highland Headquarters in Golspie.

Waverley Engineering was contracted by Tulloch Civil Engineering to carry out final landscaping on the above project.

Waverley Engineering also provided LAS Plant with emergency response plant fitting.
